Deluxe Duct Tape Clergy Stole - silver with white cross in purple band

Duct tape stole

Regular price $60.00
Regular price Sale price $60.00

Duct tape stoles are designed to be used where other stoles might falter: outdoor worship, church camp, worksites, even riverside baptisms!

The design

Most of this stole is standard duct tape (grey). In the top chest area, there is an 8” band of purple duct tape with a white cross, with black and white bands surrounding it. (Note that the cross is cut out of the main contrast color rather than being just stuck on, making it more durable.) There are also thin bands of purple, black and white toward the bottom. See the full-length pictures.

The construction

This stole is made from 100% duct tape. It has a curved neck – it’s not just a straight band of duct tape. I use a similar pattern for this as I use for my fabric stoles, so it will fit around your neck nicely.

This stole is 4” wide. Because these stoles are designed for use in rugged environments, I make them a bit shorter than my fabric stoles. The standard length is 45" (from the center of the neck to the end); a "tall" version is available that is 48". Consider getting one that goes just a few inches below the knee, to reduce the risk of tripping on it.

The packaging

This stole comes in a square metal storage tin, so you’ll be able to grab it and go.

Customization

Like this stole, but need a different color combination? Contact me, and I will let you know if I can accommodate your request. I can definitely create this stole using different  solid colors for the cross, stripes, and band at no extra charge; other changes may require a slight surcharge depending on amount of time it will take.

Care instructions

These stoles are impressively tough, but they do have their limits:

  • They start out a bit wrinkled, and will get a few more wrinkles as they join you in your ministry adventures.
  • They don’t like very hot or cold environments, so don’t store it in a hot car.
  • They are water-resistant, but shouldn’t be kept wet for long periods of time. Dry your stole thoroughly before storing it.
  • Speaking of storage, we have found that they store best when either hung up or rolled up. If it has been rolled up (for example, in the storage tin), it will be a bit curled up when you unroll it. Either hang it up or re-roll it the other way for a short time, and it will be good to go.
  • Of course, don’t machine wash it, put it in the dishwasher, or sandblast it.
  • And like your mother always told you, don’t pick at it. Seriously. It’s duct tape - it will get un-sticky, gritty, etc. You don’t want that, do you?
Duct tape stoles…because sometimes – ministry gets messy!
