The planning kit includes a fabric sample, color options, examples of stoles, and a gift card. This kit will guide your loved one through the process of designing a stole that they will love, either by selecting from one of my existing designs, or by working with me to design a stole based on a favorite Bible verse or set of words.

What is a coffee sack stole?
It is a stole is made from a recycled burlap coffee sack, providing a rustic yet elegant look. The coffee sack is thoroughly cleaned, then a short phrase or set of words is hand painted in your choice of liturgical colors. See the "coffee sack stoles" section of my shop for samples.

The stole will be made with a tapered neck, approximately 2 1/2" at the neck, 4 1/2" for most of the length. Length can be anywhere from 44" to approximately 54" from the neck to the end. (Cannot be longer because the coffee sacks are that size.) Read shop policies for sizing advice. Stole is fully lined with recycled P.E.T. felt for stability, backed with a soft 100% cotton. Not reversible.

Bear in mind that due to the nature of the burlap material, slubs and slight irregularities are to be expected and add to the character of the stole; additionally, text that was printed on the coffee sack is sometimes still visible on the stole.

How does the process work?
After purchasing this listing, I will mail you or the recipient a planning kit. This kit includes:
* the redemption certificate, with redemption information and their redemption code
* a gift card. I can include a blank card (as shown in the photos) for you to fill out, or I can fill it out for you if I am mailing it directly to the recipient
* a card explaining what burlap coffee sack stoles are
* a card with a sample of the burlap coffee sack material and color options
* a card with photos of some sample stoles and design ideas

These are printed on high-quality cardstock and are beautifully displayed in an elegant pocket envelope. The pocket envelope is available in either a pearlized white or kraft cardstock.

The planning kit contains the instructions for working with me to design the stole. In short, when the recipient wants to redeem it, the steps are as follows:
1. he or she will take a look at the burlap stole inspiration page in the packet and on my website
2. the recipient will contact me to discuss the details. The stole can either be any of my existing designs, or I will work with the recipient to determine the feasibility of using a favorite Bible verse, phrase, or set of words. (For example, Micah 6:8 says, "What does the Lord require of you? To do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God" – in that case, the whole verse is too long to fit on a stole, but "do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God" does fit.)
3. I will send a mockup of the design to the recipient for final approval, and will provide the approximate turnaround time. The turnaround time for a custom stole will generally be 3-4 weeks; however, based on existing orders, that timeframe may be shorter or longer.
