This deacon stole is made from a recycled burlap coffee sack, providing a rustic yet elegant look. Each stole is made to order, just for you.

The text:

The words from Micah 6:8 are painted in dark green on this stole, with DO JUSTICE and LOVE MERCY on the sash front, and AND WALK HUMBLY WITH YOUR GOD on the front tail. Note that the amount of space above and below the design may be different than pictured, depending on the length of the stole you order. The text appears only on the front of the stole, the back sash and tail are plain burlap.

The material:

The burlap is sourced from a nearby coffee producer, and has been thoroughly cleaned. Bear in mind that due to the nature of the burlap material, slubs and slight irregularities are to be expected and add to the character of this stole; additionally, text that was printed on the coffee sack is often still visible on the stole.

The stole:

This 4 1/2" wide deacon stole is made with a sash that runs from the wearer's left shoulder to right hip, angled to meet the tail of the stole. Each stole is made to order, and length of both sash and tail can be altered to fit the wearer. Sizing for a deacon stole is very important, and instructions can be found here.

Stole is fully lined with recycled P.E.T. felt for stability, backed with a soft 100% cotton. Not reversible. A label is sewn into the back of the stole with care instructions and information about the origin of the burlap used in that particular stole.

The packaging:

Packaged in a tin-tie bag often used to package coffee beans, ready for gifting. The bag is made from 40% recycled natural kraft paper lined with a compostable clear film made from plants, providing an earth-friendly yet waterproof way to protect your stole during shipment.
